What it does

The short version, then the long one.

Traffic Break models a real California Highway Patrol procedure: get in front of freeway traffic, weave across lanes, and pace the column down to a controlled speed so the road can be cleared safely. Most LSPDFR scripts approximate this with global speed limits or scripted halts. This one mirrors the actual training.

Vehicles in front of and behind your unit are scanned every 200 ms within a 200 m radius. Heading comparison plus a dot product against your unit's direction picks out the cars actually on your carriageway, so opposite-direction traffic stays normal. Selected vehicles match your speed minus 1 mph, light their hazards, and refuse to pass within 18 meters of your bumper.

Cars release automatically when conditions change: too far behind, heading misaligned, stalled too long, or you accelerate out. No baked-in timer, just realistic state.

At a glance

  • CHP-style procedure: vehicles match your speed minus 1 mph
  • No-pass enforcement within 18 meters of your unit
  • Automatic hazard lights on controlled vehicles
  • Same-carriageway only; oncoming traffic stays normal

How it works

Three honest answers to one common question.

  1. 01

    Same-carriageway detection

Heading comparison (±35° tolerance) plus a dot product against your unit's direction identifies which vehicles are on the same side of the freeway. Oncoming traffic is filtered out and never affected.

  2. 02

    Speed and lane control

Selected vehicles target your speed minus 1 mph and respect a no-pass envelope within 18 meters. Hazard lights are forced on for visibility. Collision prevention keeps them off your bumper.

  3. 03

    Automatic release

Vehicles release on heading drift past 45°, distance over 250 m, stall over 6 seconds, or hard player acceleration with a 2-second grace period. No release timer to babysit.

Installation

  1. 01Install LSPDFR 0.4.9 or newer.
  2. 02Drop LeTrafficBreak.dll into your plugins/LSPDFR folder when the release ships.
  3. 03Launch GTA V, go on duty, and get in a marked patrol vehicle on a freeway.
  4. 04Press B while in the patrol vehicle to activate. Press B again to release.
